IndyCar Cafe at the North American International Auto Show

The Detroit Grand Prix partnered with the Verizon IndyCar Series for the IndyCar Cafe at NAIAS Detroit. The Cafe hosted the official unveiling of the new 2018 Universal Aero Kit car to be used throughout the 2018 season on Tuesday, January 16. INDYCAR drivers and legends came to Detroit on Friday, January 26 for WXYZ Family Day at the Auto Show, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans!

The final day of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear featured three races. The day started with the Trans Am Series presented by Pirielli autograph session and the Verizon IndyCar Series qualifying. The first race of the weekend featuring the Trans Am Series presented by Pirielli followed by the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks. The final race of the weekend featured the Verizon IndyCar Series in the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit Dual II.
Saturday at the Grand Prix

A busy day at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear with all four series in action. On-track action began with the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, then a race by the high-flying trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks. The exotic sports cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship took part in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic before the Verizon IndyCar Series raced in the first Chevrolet Dual in Detroit.

PNC Education Day at The Palace of Auburn Hills

PNC and the Grand Prix hosted over 450 pre-K students from Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) at The Palace of Auburn Hills as a part of the PNC Grow Up Great program. The students learned STEM initiatives through racing on the floor of The Palace.
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship drivers Dane Cameron and Eric Curran joined PNC Regional President for Detroit and Southeast Michigan, Ric DeVore and Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear General Manager, Michael Montri, talking about how STEM relates to motorsports and the importance of programs like this for young students to get them interested in career opportunities through STEM.
Conor Daly in Windsor and Comerica Park

Verizon IndyCar Series driver Conor Daly, driver of the No. 4 ABC Supply Company Chevrolet for AJ Foyt Racing, was the guest of honor at Detroit Grand Prix Day at Comerica Park. Daly threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Detroit Tigers took on the Minnesota Twins. Before visiting Comerica Park, Daly joined Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Event Chairman Bud Denker and City of Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens announcing the renewed partnership between the Grand Prix and the City of Windsor. As a part of the partnership, Canadian fans can get a ticket to the Grand Prix and fast, reliable transportation to Belle Isle on Transit Windsor.
Grand Prix Poster Contest at the College for Creative Studies

For the fifth consecutive year, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear and the College for Creative Studies partnered to create the official Grand Prix poster. Junior Kaylin Mahoney won win her watercolor design with two cars from the Verizon IndyCar Series racing below the iconic Detroit skyline. CCS student Lexi Pape finished second while the design created by Dan Rees earned third.
